It’s factually correct that I call both my wife and dog sweetheart. Recently my wife has pointed out that only one of them should have the reverential nickname and I’d better pick. Is this a diabolical trap of feminine wiles?
If I give sweetheart to the dog will this be a big boner (in the old fashioned since of the word)?
If I pick my wife, then will calling her sweetheart be stigmatized because of earlier parity with the dog?
Why did sweetheart for both gal pal and fido work for so long (years really) but then rapidly change one night at a dinner party in a conversation that touched on names other’s called their main squeezes or posslq’s? My wife brought sweetheart as an example (while no doubt she was slipping the dog lima beans under the table) to a bit of a cackled response by many of the woman guests.
The guests no doubt were inthralled by the sumptuous evening do starting out with drinks with fine nibbles and a knock out meal followed by individual pineapple upside cakes.
My wife also calls me and the dog Sweety, When I pointed this out it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
